Terms, Waiver & Code of Conduct

Organized and operated by Texas Football Club · Version 2026-09-07

IMPORTANT: THIS AGREEMENT INCLUDES A RELEASE OF CLAIMS FOR THE ORGANIZER'S OWN ORDINARY NEGLIGENCE. READ IT CAREFULLY BEFORE SIGNING.

1. Organizer, protected parties and scope

Austin World Cup is organized and operated by Texas Football Club (Texas FC). In this agreement, “Released Parties” means Texas Football Club; Austin World Cup as its event name; Hani Alrifai; and Texas FC's founders, officers, directors, organizers, employees, coaches, referees, contractors, agents and volunteers, in each case for their acts or omissions in organizing, administering or delivering the event. These provisions protect each Released Party individually as an intended third-party beneficiary.

“Activities” means the Austin World Cup tournament edition identified in my registration, including its authorized matches, warm-ups, event-related training and player assessments, ceremonies, and my presence in event-controlled playing and sideline areas, including reasonable rescheduled sessions for that edition. It does not include unrelated future events or a separately registered youth academy.

2. Individual agreement and eligibility

In exchange for being permitted to participate, I personally agree to these terms. This adult waiver is for participants aged 18 or older. Payment, roster submission or acceptance by a captain or another person does not replace my own signed agreement. Every player must complete individual acceptance before participating. A person under 18 requires prior written admission approval and separate parent/guardian documentation; this adult waiver does not purport to waive a child's claims.

3. Acknowledgment and assumption of risk

I understand that soccer is a strenuous contact sport. Risks include collisions, tackles, falls, impacts from balls or equipment, unsafe acts of other people, uneven or slippery surfaces, goal or equipment failure, heat, dehydration, severe weather, communicable illness, and delays in emergency care. These may cause sprains, fractures, concussion or other brain injury, spinal injury, permanent disability, illness, death or property loss. Rules, equipment and supervision cannot eliminate all risks.

I voluntarily accept the inherent risks and the risks of ordinary negligence expressly released below, whether known or reasonably unforeseen. I will assess my own fitness, seek medical advice when appropriate, disclose restrictions relevant to safe participation, and stop and notify an official if I feel unwell, become injured or observe a hazard. This acknowledgment does not excuse the conduct excluded in Section 5.

4. EXPRESS RELEASE OF ORDINARY NEGLIGENCE

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY TEXAS LAW, I RELEASE AND DISCHARGE THE RELEASED PARTIES FROM CLAIMS I MAY HAVE FOR PERSONAL INJURY, ILLNESS, DISABILITY, DEATH, PROPERTY DAMAGE OR RELATED LOSS ARISING FROM MY PARTICIPATION IN THE ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING CLAIMS CAUSED IN WHOLE OR IN PART BY THE ORDINARY NEGLIGENCE OF ONE OR MORE RELEASED PARTIES, WHETHER THAT NEGLIGENCE IS SOLE, JOINT OR CONCURRENT WITH THE NEGLIGENCE OF ANY OTHER PERSON.

THIS EXPRESSLY INCLUDES ORDINARY NEGLIGENCE IN EVENT ORGANIZATION, SCHEDULING, PARTICIPANT PLACEMENT, SELECTION OR SUPERVISION OF STAFF AND OFFICIALS, INSTRUCTION, RULE ENFORCEMENT, INSPECTION OR MAINTENANCE OF PLAYING AREAS OR EQUIPMENT, WARNINGS, AND ARRANGING OR PROVIDING EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE WITHIN THEIR EVENT ROLES.

This release applies only to claims I have authority to release, including such claims pursued through my estate or personal representative. It does not claim authority over another person's independent rights. I agree not to bring a claim that this agreement validly releases. That promise does not prevent a good-faith challenge to enforceability or pursuit of a claim excluded below.

5. Claims and rights not released

Nothing in this agreement releases gross negligence, reckless or intentional misconduct, fraud, criminal conduct, or any claim or right that applicable law does not permit to be waived. It does not waive a minor's personal-injury claims, restrict reporting to authorities, or eliminate mandatory consumer protections. The injury release does not eliminate contractual refund rights. These exclusions also limit the assumption of risk, covenant not to sue, and indemnity.

6. Limited responsibility for claims caused by me

To the extent permitted by law, I will indemnify and hold the Released Parties harmless from third-party claims, damages and reasonable legal expenses, but only to the extent caused by my own negligence, intentional misconduct or material breach of these terms. I do not indemnify any Released Party for that party's own negligence or other fault, or for another participant's conduct. This provision does not require payment merely because I bring an injury claim or question this agreement's validity. Responsibility must be established by agreement or a competent court; no settlement may impose liability on me without my written consent.

7. Medical care and expenses

I authorize event personnel to request emergency assistance and arrange transport or first aid if reasonably necessary, subject to my right to refuse care when legally capable. I remain responsible for medical and transport charges, subject to insurance and any valid legal claim. Registration does not itself promise medical-expense insurance or continuous on-site medical coverage. I will provide an emergency contact and follow medical restrictions and official removal-from-play instructions.

8. Code of conduct and safety

Players and captains must comply with published match rules, facility requirements and reasonable safety instructions. Spectators must follow venue and event conduct rules as a condition of remaining in event areas; a player's signature does not sign a waiver for spectators.

No slide tackles. No cleats; turf shoes or appropriate athletic shoes only. Shin guards are mandatory.

No fighting, deliberate dangerous play, threats, discriminatory abuse, harassment, or interference with officials or emergency personnel.

Do not participate while impaired. Report hazards and injuries promptly. A player with a suspected concussion or other serious injury must leave play and follow appropriate medical clearance requirements before returning.

Officials may stop play, remove a participant, require suitable equipment, or suspend or disqualify a player or team for safety or misconduct, using reasonable good-faith judgment. Sporting decisions are administered under the match rules; they do not determine civil liability. Refund consequences are subject to the applicable Refund Policy and law.

9. Registration, rosters and event changes

A complete team entry requires exactly seven registered players, each individually accepted and cleared to participate. Country choices are preferences, not guarantees. Entry benefits and any guaranteed number of matches are those disclosed and accepted at purchase or in a later expressly accepted amendment. Opponents and advancement depend on entries and results; registration does not guarantee selection for any club roster, contract or employment opportunity.

Texas FC may make reasonable operational changes and suspend or postpone activities for unsafe weather, field closure, emergencies, insufficient entries or other operational necessity. Material changes to dates, format or included benefits will be communicated, with any required consent or remedy under the accepted purchase terms and law. This clause does not automatically cancel previously promised benefits or refund rights.

10. Payments, cancellations and refunds

Refunds, withdrawals, transfers and cancellation remedies are governed by the Refund Policy disclosed at registration. The version accepted at purchase governs unless the participant expressly accepts a later change. Nothing here makes every payment nonrefundable, overrides a specific written refund promise, or waives a statutory payment-dispute right. Participants arrange their own travel and accommodation; Texas FC does not undertake to reimburse those costs except where expressly agreed or legally required.

11. Photography and video

By separately consenting, I grant Texas FC and its authorized media providers nonexclusive, worldwide permission to record and use my event image, voice and likeness for match coverage, livestreams, highlights, social media, YouTube and Texas FC event promotion, without payment. This does not permit unlawful or misleading use. Minors require separate permission. Declining promotional consent does not guarantee exclusion from incidental public-event coverage.

12. International participants

Participants from outside the United States are responsible for their own passports, visas, travel authorization, immigration compliance, transport, accommodation and related costs. Registration does not guarantee entry into the United States. Texas FC and Austin World Cup do not provide immigration sponsorship, guarantee visas or make immigration decisions.

13. TEXAS LAW AND COURT VENUE

This agreement and disputes arising from it or the Activities are governed by Texas law, without applying choice-of-law principles that would substitute another state's law, except where controlling federal law or another mandatory rule requires otherwise. To the extent legally enforceable, claims must be brought in a state court of competent jurisdiction in Williamson County, Texas, or, where federal subject-matter jurisdiction exists, in the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, Austin Division. The parties consent to personal jurisdiction there, subject to nonwaivable jurisdiction and venue requirements.

14. Severability, accepted version and electronic signing

An unenforceable provision is severed or limited only as legally permitted; the valid remainder continues. This agreement does not enlarge statutory immunity. Non-enforcement on one occasion does not waive later enforcement.

These terms, the registration confirmation, and the match rules and Refund Policy supplied at acceptance form the event agreement. The release and its exclusions govern injury-risk questions; accepted purchase promises and lawful refund remedies remain. Questions: info@austinworldcup.com.

I agree to use electronic records and signatures if I select the electronic acceptance method. My typed name and affirmative acceptance are intended as my signature. I may request a paper signing option. Texas FC will make the agreement available to retain. Substantive waiver changes require renewed acceptance and do not retroactively release an injury that has already occurred.

BY SIGNING, I CONFIRM THAT I AM AT LEAST 18, HAVE READ THIS AGREEMENT, UNDERSTAND THE EXPRESS RELEASE OF THE RELEASED PARTIES' OWN ORDINARY NEGLIGENCE, AND ACCEPT IT VOLUNTARILY. I UNDERSTAND THAT THE EXCLUSIONS IN SECTION 5 REMAIN IN EFFECT.
